Welcome to Zachary Lane Elementary, a community school where everyone feels like family and reading is a really big deal!
READING, RIGOR, AND RELATIONSHIPS
In our school we embrace a culture of kindness, and we put books and reading at the center. In February we celebrate I Love to Read Month with special events and a Literacy Night that draws hundreds of students and family members to make books, create illustrations, and more. Students may receive an evening call, and if they “get caught reading,” they win lunch with the principal.
We use a rigorous hands-on approach to our learning. A maker space inspires innovation, imagination, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. Our community garden is a real-life science laboratory and involves a broad community of family and neighbors.
The arts are a major focus at Zachary Lane: visual art, band, orchestra, singing, dancing, and drumming spur self-expression, social growth, and just plain fun.
Families love our school and it shows. A large, active PTA annually sponsors enjoyable activities each year, with a little something for everyone.
YOUR K- 12 PATHWAY
Students who complete elementary school at Zachary Lane will enroll in Plymouth Middle School, which offers an optional dual-language/ immersion Spanish track.
