Green Team

What started out as an idea of two teachers and their award of a Hands-On Learning Grant from Seven Dreams Foundation in 2020 has bloomed into a garden of inspiration.  The Green Team has literally taken root and continued to grow through additional Hands-On Learning Grants, financial support from ZLE PTA, and volunteers from parents and the community.  The grassroots volunteer-based Green Team has continued to support hands-on learning experiences for students in the outdoor garden and the indoor Grow Lab.

Volunteers are welcome to support:

  • “Explored Learning”, an extension opportunity for students to explore the garden during recess
  • Attend monthly Green Team meetings to contribute your knowledge and ideas
  • Support Junior Master Gardener Lessons that are facilitated by Master Gardeners from the University of Minnesota
  • Sign up with your family to water the garden over the summer
